We’re planning our next exchange to Honduras for Health and Safety Activists within Canadian Unions. The exchange is planned for the beginning of April 2011.  Our partners in Honduras, the Honduran Women’s Collective (CODEMUH), have spent years researching, educating and accompanying sweatshop factory workers with Occupational Health and Safety claims. We will be working with the Honduran team  to define areas of mutual interest, and have several days to exchange information on related topics such as diagnosing musculoskeletal injuries, BC’s legislative framework and ergonomics. We think we can learn from their organizing model, popular education methods and their success with grassroots activism around OH&S.

Trip Details:

When: Early April 2011, likely to last 10 days including travel time.
Cost: Approximately $2700 (will vary slightly depending on final number of registrants), includes airfare, food, lodging, ground transportation and translation costs.
Other details: We’ll be flying through the US to San Pedro Sula in the northwestern part of the country, we will likely have a day off to sightsee at the end of the trip.
